FAQ

Do I need a Drip Kettle for V60?

If you are a coffee enthusiast, yes, you definitely need a drip kettle for pour-over coffee preparation. Because you would immediately be able to sense the difference between a delicious cup of coffee with full taste and a mediocre cup of coffee prepared with the kettle you use to boil water for your spaghetti.

Moreover, the gooseneck on professional drip kettles gives you control over pour-over coffee brewing, which is irreplaceable by any other kettle.

How to clean and maintain a drip kettle?

It is natural that even when using filtered water, there will be some build up on your kettle at places where the kettle is in contact with water the most, especially the spout and bottom interior. That is why it is important to descale and regularly clean your kettle.

The easiest way to clean your kettle is to fill it with 50/50 white vinegar solution and leave that in for 20-30 minutes. Clean the spout with a small pipe cleaner brush and if any build-up is still visibly stuck to the interior of your kettle, boil the vinegar solution in the kettle.

Afterwards, empty the kettle, wash with clean water and dry with a soft cloth. Before using for your next brewing, boil a full kettle of clean water to get rid of any vinegar residue or smell.

Remember that a slight abrasion on the bottom of your kettle is normal with regular use. It is caused by heat and friction.
