Fiorenzato AllGround Sense Grind-by-Weight Coffee Grinder

Most grinders guess. The Fiorenzato AllGround Sense weighs. A load cell sits in the portafilter fork, so you set a dose in grams and the grinder stops when that dose is in your basket. No separate scale, no topping up, no sweeping the counter. Just the shot you meant to pull.

It comes from Fiorenzato, the grinder maker from the Veneto in Italy, with more than 80 years of experience in professional coffee bars. The AllGround line takes that know-how home, and the Sense is the version with the scale built in.

Grind by weight, not by guesswork

Timed grinding drifts as beans age, the room warms up or you change coffee. Weight doesn't. You put the portafilter on the fork, the Sense tares it and grinds until it hits your target. Fiorenzato's floating load cell uses a patented anti-jamming system, so the reading stays accurate in everyday conditions. Bump the portafilter mid-dose and grinding pauses, waits for the scale to settle, then carries on.

One grinder for espresso, moka and filter

Turn the ring nut to Espresso, Moka or Filter and the touchscreen switches to that mode. Each one has its own presets:

• Espresso: single dose, double dose, or hold to grind while the display counts grams live.
• Moka: small, medium and large presets for your moka pot.
• Filter: small, medium and large doses, plus continuous grinding for big batches.

Inside the three zones, micrometric adjustment moves in 10 µm steps, so small changes stay small in the cup.

Burrs built for the long haul

The 64 mm flat burrs are made from food-grade steel and finished with Fiorenzato's Dark-T coating. Fiorenzato rates them for 3,000 kg of coffee and the grinder for up to 1 kg a day. That's more than any home kitchen will throw at it. At 1,400 rpm on European 50 Hz power, a 16 g double shot takes about 10.5 seconds.

Easy to live with

• Adjustable fork: set the height to fit your portafilter or filter cup.
• Tool-free cleaning: the grinding chamber with the upper burr lifts out for brushing. For safety, the grinder won't start until the ring nut is back in place.
• Time mode if you want it: switch the scale off and the Sense doses by seconds instead.
