A café legend, sized for your kitchen – now in deep Blue

Every La Marzocco carries a little of Florence. Brothers Giuseppe and Bruno Bambi founded the company there in 1927 and named it after the Marzocco, the city's heraldic lion. Almost a century later, every machine is still built by hand at the factory in Scarperia, in the hills just north of Florence. That goes for the multi-group café workhorses and for this compact home espresso machine alike.

The Linea Micra is designed as a scaled-down Linea Classic S. It shares the clean, squared-off lines of a family that has stood on café counters since the first Linea arrived in 1990. That family includes the Linea Classic and the Linea PB, Piero Bambi's 2013 update of the Classic. The Micra brings the same DNA home at just 34 cm tall.

Why the Blue matters

For 2026, La Marzocco refined the colours of its home range. Blue replaces the old Light Blue, and it is a very different idea: deeper, more saturated and bolder, yet still measured. It gives rich contrast without taking over the room, and it sits naturally next to wood, stone, steel and ceramic. The matte finish went through scratch, ageing and discolouration testing, so it is made to look good for years. On the Micra, the backsplash stays reflective stainless steel. You get a flash of polished metal right where the espresso pours.

Built like the café machine it comes from

  • Dual boilers, dual PID. A 0.25 L coffee boiler and a 1.6 L steam boiler, both insulated and each temperature-controlled. Brew and steam without waiting for one boiler to switch jobs.
  • Ready in about five minutes. La Marzocco says the Micra reaches ideal espresso temperature in roughly five minutes. A flat white before work becomes realistic.
  • Convertible portafilter. Switch between single spout, double spout and bottomless. Any standard 58 mm tamper fits.
  • Everyday details. A 2-litre water reservoir, so no plumbing is needed. Add a hot water spout, indicator lights and barista lights that light up your cup.
  • La Marzocco Home app. The Micra connects to the internet. Set auto-on times, use the timer and follow video tutorials from your phone.

Our take

A Micra will only ever be as good as the grinder next to it. Find a match among our espresso grinders, then dial in. Want more machine? Compare it with the La Marzocco Linea Mini R. You can also browse our full La Marzocco range and espresso accessories.
