Overview
The Varia ORBI PRO is the ORBI espresso machine set on its Home Dock, a base with its own scale. Combined with the scale in the cup, it shows you two numbers on every brew: what went in and what came out. Dial in espresso with pressure profiles, run staged filter recipes, or tune a capsule, and see exactly what changed from one cup to the next.
Pre-order: ships end of November
ORBI is on pre-order. We expect it to ship from our Danish warehouse at the end of November 2026. You pay the full price at checkout, just like any other order, and we'll email you as soon as yours is on its way. Questions? Chat with us
The ORBI platform won the SCA Best New Product Award, World of Coffee Brussels 2026.
How the Home Dock changes your routine
- Dock it. Set ORBI on the Home Dock with the cup underneath, and that's your coffee station sorted.
- Weigh in. Add coffee and water when the screen asks, and the dock confirms each reading.
- Brew and compare. ORBI runs your profile, stops at the target yield and shows the gap between input and output.
Our take: the dial-in partner for your home coffee bar
We love light, bright roasts, and they reward careful brewing. ORBI PRO turns all that tinkering into numbers you can line up side by side: brew, tweak one variable, brew again, keep the best version. It won't make up for tired beans or a poor grind, so pair it with freshly roasted coffee and a grinder like the Varia VS6, then let the dock keep score. And if you're away for the weekend, the brewer lifts off the dock and runs on its own battery.
PRO or Portable?
- ORBI PRO (this one): machine, cup scale and Home Dock scale. Built for the home coffee bar, measures what goes in and what comes out, and made for people who love to experiment.
- ORBI Portable: machine plus cup scale only. Lighter (1.6 kg) and battery-powered, for brewing wherever you are.

Features
Two scales, the whole story
The Home Dock weighs the brewer with its coffee and water. The cup weighs what you actually drink. Both read to 0.01 g, so you can see how much water stayed behind in the puck or the filter bed.
Clean numbers, every time
The touchscreen prompts you to add coffee, then water. In PRO mode ORBI holds off until each reading has settled and zeroes itself between steps, so nothing gets double-counted.
Finishes on the gram
Confirm your dose and ORBI works out the yield for you (20 g on a 1:2 espresso = 40 g in the cup), then stops the shot by weight.
Espresso you can shape
A 58 mm basket and group head, a custom gear pump spinning at 12,000 RPM, pre-infusion you program yourself and pressure profiles anywhere from 0 to 15 bar. 0.1 °C PID keeps the temperature locked in.
Filter, measured properly
Build recipes with a bloom, several pours, pauses and flow-rate profiles, and ORBI pours them for you. The dock then shows how much brew water went in compared with how much coffee came out.
Capsules, upgraded
Even a Nespresso-type capsule gets its own pre-infusion and pressure curve, for when someone in the house just wants a quick cup.
A recipe lab on your phone
Download recipes from roasters and creators in the Varia app, or write your own: dose, yield, temperature and stages. Change one thing, brew, compare, keep the winner. Syncs over Bluetooth or Wi-Fi, with OTA firmware updates.

Frequently asked questions
What does the second scale do?
The Home Dock weighs the brewer along with the coffee and water inside it, while the cup scale weighs your drink. Comparing the two shows how much went in, how much came out and how much the grounds held on to, which is gold when you're dialling in filter.
How precise are the scales?
Both read to 0.01 g, and ORBI stops the shot by weight at the yield your recipe sets.
Can I use the brewer off the dock?
Yes. It's the same ORBI machine with a 4000 mAh battery and 30 W USB-C charging. Off the dock you brew with the cup scale only.
How much counter space does it need?
With the Home Dock it measures 86 × 141 × 387 mm and weighs about 2.5 kg, a slim footprint for most counters and coffee carts.
Does it do pressure profiling?
Yes. For espresso and capsules you set programmable pre-infusion and pressure profiles from 0 to 15 bar; filter recipes use staged pours with flow-rate profiling.
Which capsules and filter papers can I use?
Capsule mode is built around Nespresso-type capsules. Filter brewing runs on Varia FLO 45 flat wave papers.
Should I pick PRO or Portable?
Choose PRO if ORBI will live on your counter and you love dialling in with real numbers. If you mainly want great espresso wherever you are, ORBI Portable is lighter and keeps things simple.
