The Mahlkönig E64 WS brings the grind-by-weight tech from Mahlkönig's café grinders into a grinder that fits under your kitchen cabinets. Lock in the portafilter, and it grinds your dose by weight, accurate to 0.1 g. No timer guessing, no scale balancing on the fork.
Dosed by weight, every time
Set a target dose and the E64 WS weighs as it grinds, then stops when it gets there. Grinding starts automatically when you insert the portafilter. Use more than one basket? Portafilter recognition tells your portafilters apart by weight and grinds the recipe you saved for each one.
Grind size you can read in microns
The patented Disc Distance Detection (DDD), known from Mahlkönig's professional grinders, measures the distance between the burrs and shows it in microns. You adjust the grind electronically, so going back to yesterday's setting is a number, not a feeling. Zero calibration is guided on screen and needs no tools.

Grind-by-Sync and the Sync app
Paired wirelessly with a compatible machine such as the Mahlkönig Xenia Brew-by-Sync, the E64 WS can adjust its grind size automatically based on how each shot ran. The Mahlkönig Sync app connects the grinder, shows your grinding stats and installs software updates automatically.
Built around 64 mm steel burrs
64 mm special steel burrs at 1,950 rpm grind at least 3 g per second for espresso. Mahlkönig built it for quiet grinding, so an early shot won't wake the house. Choose matte black or matte white.

What does the Mahlkönig E64 WS do differently from a timer grinder?
It weighs the coffee while it grinds and stops at your target dose, accurate to 0.1 g. A timer grinder only grinds for a set number of seconds, so the dose can drift as beans and grind size change.
Does the E64 WS work with any espresso machine?
Yes. Grind-by-Weight, portafilter recognition and the electronic grind adjustment work on their own with any espresso machine. Automatic grind adjustment via Grind-by-Sync needs a compatible machine or device, such as the Mahlkönig Xenia.
How do I adjust the grind size?
Electronically. The Disc Distance Detection system shows the burr distance in microns, so you can note a setting and return to it exactly.
